Welcome to the website of the Canadian Youth Delegation to the 12th UN Climate Change Conference, officially known as the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, taking place in Nairobi, Kenya, from November 6th – 17th 2006. It is also the 2nd Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol, of which Canada is a ratified signatory.

 

The delegation hails from across Canada, with diverse perspectives linked together by a common vision: a stable climate in a just world governed by the principles of sustainability. We seek to bring our expertise, passion and insight to bear on the threat – and opportunity – that is climate change.

 

Over the course of the next month, we will report on our experiences in Nairobi, observing the negotiations, participating in side events, networking with like-minded individuals and organizations from around the world and generally making sure the world understands that Canadians care, despite the regressive attitude of the current government. We will stay committed to Kyoto and make positive steps towards a climate-friendly future – we can and must!
